Book Tour: Tyrant (King, #2) by T.M. Frazier

King and Pup are back in this exciting conclusion to the King Series by T.M. Frazier releasing August 17th!

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn’t.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I’m more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King’s bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.
I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He’s already saved me in more ways than one. Now it’s my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else…

My Review

4 "That's One Hell Of A Ride" Stars

I'm not giving you any kind of synopsis for this one, because I don't want to spoil the first book for you!

Tyrant picks up just minutes after King ended. The first book ended on a major cliffhanger, so it was awesome to dive right back into the insanity of this world. Tyrant was a lot more graphic than King was (and that's saying something!), but it really fit with the story. There's some truly deplorable things that happen, and Frazier didn't pull any punches.

First off, Doe doesn't remember everything. That's a misleading blurb. She only starts remembering fragments of her life before, leaving her more confused and scared than ever. Surrounded by people she's known her whole life that may as well be strangers, and with more on the line than ever before, Doe is tied up in knots and toeing a dangerous line.

We get to see even more of King's crazy side, and it's as fascinating as it is chilling. I can't even begin to describe how drawn I am to King's character. Being in his head....it's something else, let me tell you.

This book does an even better job than in King as far as shoving you inside the characters' heads. You really become Doe, and her perceptions and reactions become your own. It was such an interesting and absorbing way to read. My judgements on other characters weren't always right, and that's not something I'm used to. Props to Frazier for that!

There were a few things I didn't like about the book, three (though technically I could lump them together) plot points in particular. It felt a bit excessive as more kept getting added to the story when I wasn't sold on the initial introduction in the first place. The last 10-15% of the book felt a bit rushed, too.

I was satisfied with the ending we were given. It was a great way to wrap it all up and show the characters' development.

Tyrant was a more emotional and introverted story than King, though still a fast paced and all consuming read. It perfectly set the stage for another character's story that will be out in December. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Overall, Tyrant was an admirable sequel and I would recommend it if you enjoyed the first book. I preferred King, but Tyrant was just as good!

Thank you to TRSOR Promotions and T.M. Frazier for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

About the Author

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier resides in sunny Southwest Florida with her husband and three feisty fur kids.

She attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she specialized in public speaking. After years working in real estate and new home construction, she decided it was finally time to stop pushing her dreams to the back burner and pursue writing seriously.

In the third grade she wrote her very first story about a lost hamster. It earned rave reviews from both her teacher and her parents.

It only took her twenty years to start the next one.
It will not be about hamsters.

  7. I hadn't heard of these, but thanks for sharing! that's great you loved this one so much - and I like when sequels start right where the first left. It's kind of fun. Glad the graphic nature fit the book too.
