Monday Musts, No. 3

Hey guys!

I saw Monday Musts over at Kimberly Faye Reads (originally done by Lovin' los libros) and thought it looked perfect for my lazy self like a lot of fun! All you have to do is share your Must Read, Must Listen and Must Watch for the week.

Must Read

This was such an amazing read! 5 stars and quickly earned a spot on my "Best of 2017" shelf. The narration was spot on, and I honestly think I prefer this series to Kate Daniels.

Must Listen

The music to this song is so gorgeous.

Must Watch

Working my way through season 1 of Supernatural, and it's been the only show I've watched lately where I can watch episodes back to back without getting twitchy. Normally I'm too ADD to binge watch. ;)
Feel free to suggest any Netflix shows! I'm open to most anything, but my favorite shows so far have been this one, How I Met Your Mother, and The 100.

Monday Musts, No. 2

Hey guys!

I saw Monday Musts over at Kimberly Faye Reads (originally done by Lovin' los libros) and thought it looked perfect for my lazy self like a lot of fun! All you have to do is share your Must Read, Must Listen and Must Watch for the week.

Must Read

I still have a few hours left of this audiobook, but it is so amazing that I don't want it to end. Action, humor, family, romance...it's perfect.
Also, Rogan is my newest book boyfriend. Is it wrong to swoon when he threatened to kill anyone that disturbed the heroine's sleep? #RelationshipGoals
The narration is perfect, as per usual.

Must Listen

I've been on a big soft/acoustic kick lately.

Must Watch

Yeah.....it's just as addictive as people said it was. I haven't watched every episode (honestly, I fail at binge watching - skipping episodes and bouncing around is my thing), but I can't stop watching. Can't wait for the next season!
Also, I've never been a "shipper" of anything and I can't stand that term, but I'd make an exception for Bellamy and Clarke. Oh my god, I love them; Bellamy especially breaks my heart. I kinda watch the show just for their little moments.

Monday Musts, No. 1

Hey guys!

I saw Monday Musts over at Kimberly Faye Reads (originally done by Lovin' los libros) and thought it looked perfect for my lazy self like a lot of fun! All you have to do is share your Must Read, Must Listen and Must Watch for the week.

Must Read

I'm still reading it, and while it's making me feel extremely icky (human trafficking will do that to you), I'm ridiculously intrigued and can't wait to see where it goes.

Must Listen

I couldn't stand the original or the Justin Bieber one, but this cover of Despacito is fantastic!

Much Watch

Still on my How I Met Your Mother kick. Season two so far! Barney never fails to crack me up.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Need to Be TV Series

Hey, everyone!

It's Top Ten Tuesday by The Broke and The Bookish! This week topic is TV-themed! Any TV related topic (favorite shows, favorites of certain times, shows that need to come back, ect) is up for grabs. I'm doing ten books I wish were TV series! And by wish, I mean I'd only want to see them if they were 100% true to story, with perfect casting and perfect music/script/effects. :p

In no real order....

10. Never Never

This is one I'd be totally fine with having the ending/last book changed. Otherwise, can you imagine how addictive this novella series would be as a tv show?!

9. Chicagoland Vampires

This is one I probably wouldn't want to see actually happen, since TV (and movies, for that matter) never get vampires right for me, but in a perfect would this would be epic.

8. Crossfire

This would be a complete guilty pleasure that I'd watch religiously, but would strongly deny watching it. :p

7. Reliquary

While reading this series I thought it'd be a perfect tv series. Action, sex, betrayal, mystery...all that fun stuff!

6. Monster In His Eyes

This would be such a twisted show!

5. Fever (the first 5!)

Ohhhhhh, I would love to watch the chemistry and foreplay play out with Mac and Barrons! Plus the action, the tension...it'd be fantastic.

4. Experiment in Terror

I'm a complete wuss when it comes to watching anything horror related, but would make an exception for my favorite romantic horror series!

3. Menagerie

It'd take a lot to pull this one off, but if it could happen it'd be amazing.

2. Amour Amour

I love Cirque du Soleil and would adore watching it combined with such a good love story!

1. Angelfall

Another one that'd keep me glued to the screen, and I wouldn't mind if the ending was switched up a bit on this series, too.

The Sunday Post/It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Hey, ladies! Happy 4th of July weekendish!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a fun weekly meme hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

I...did almost nothing this week. Well, scratch that. I did nothing the first part of the week but sleep. I had a conference most of last week, out in Arizona, and people drain me. I needed to recuperate!
We went blueberry picking on Wednesday morning, and while it was brutally hot (even at 8am), there were tons of blueberries that taste amazing. I've been eating blueberries like crazy: blueberry smoothies, salad with blueberries, blueberries with yogurt, straight blueberries...

My aunt visited and stayed the night Thursday and Friday (we're only 4 years apart, so more like sisters than aunt/niece), and we saw Finding Dory that Thursday and did some thrift store shopping on Friday. Dory was awful, and thrift shopping was fruitful. Worked a long day yesterday, but have today off!

My steps and fitness this week sucked. Spent Sunday walking around the airport or flying. I usually walk every night, but found myself asleep by 9 o'clock most nights, usually without wanting to (just keeling over wherever I was), then waking up just as tired as before. Missed most of my step goals, and only did yoga two or three times. Going to do better next week, and oh well - I ate really healthy!!

Steps this week:

Sunday - 5,347
Monday - 6,281
Tuesday - 14.694
Wednesday - 8,714
Thursday - 8,065
Friday - 4,795
Saturday - 12,688

Total - 60,584

Read This Week

3 stars!
2 stars for the story, 4 for the smut.

Yeah...just a short (200ish pages) smutty read. My brain was not capable of anything with a plot, and this was just porn. Filthy, filthy porn that I feel like I've already read. I either forgot to mark it on Goodreads, or I read so many dirty novels that the depravity runs together.

Currently Reading

Not too far in, but the audiobook is fantastic, as always! Lorelei King does a fabulous job as Charley.

I refuse to accept that the season 2 finale of Outlander is this coming Saturday, so I dove into Dragonfly in Amber. I'm always surprised that I like these books! I'm finding France a tad dull, so I'm skimming that section. Otherwise, enjoying! Jamie is...sigh. I want.

What Will I Read Next

This season finale is going to destroy me, so as soon as I finish that I'm grabbing this.

The theme of the week is man candy. ;)

A fairly quiet week around here, with sunny and coolish (68-70 on average) weather and not too much work. I'm loving all the sun, but I'm not looking forward to the summer heat that's lurking around the corner!

Last week I talked of how I started the first episode of Outlander, if you'll remember. Despite a very rocky start, things really started to pick up around episode 5, and by the 7th, I was throughly hooked. I finished the first season and am dying for more!
The first installment of season one was good, if a bit slow (there's one episode where they're sitting at a table talking for 45 minutes of an hour long episode. Seriously, 45 minutes of nothing but that).

The second half of the season though...holy hell, it was epic!! So much action, captivating history (I was terrible with history in school and it's never been something that draws me - quite the opposite, usually), plot twists abound, and a truly stunning romance. Maybe I'll do a sort of series review about it soon....
Either way, suffice it to say that Scottish accents are incredibly sexy (even if I had to turn on the subtitles), and now I understand the attraction of kilts.

Still holding steady with daily walking, jogging when my ankle can take it, and daily yoga!

Read This Week

I read almost nothing this week, since Outlander was occupying me into the early hours of the morning without fail!

4.5 stars!
I'm really enjoying this take on vampires. Audiobook

3 stars!
A somewhat funny novel that did not need to be 500 pages. 200-260 would've been fine.
Almsot 5 stars!

My favorite in the series so far. This installment was much more action packed than its predecessors, and I was so glad for that. Bitch of a cliffhanger, though! Audiobook.

Currently Reading

I'm on such a paranormal kick lately.
I love the audiobooks for this series! Apparently the book after this one has a different narrator. Not sure how I feel about that. It worked for the Fever series, but...

It says something huge about this book and the show that a self-proffessed hater of time travel and historical romance is completely in love with it.

What Will I Read Next

Well, duh.

A Little Of This and That

Hey, guys!

Today's post will just be a quick little chatty thing; I'm in the middle of a few great books, so I don't have any reviews for you until probably...Wednesday. Maybe. I hope.

Last week was absolutely killer with work, so it was the best relief to spend yesterday afternoon at the beach. The water was gorgeous, albeit a bit rough (well...rough is a relative term. The gulf being rough is calm for most everywhere else), and the perfect antidote to the nearly 110 degree heat index.

I have a newborn photo shoot to do today, and I can't wait to test out my new backdrops and swanky lightning!
My order from Book Outlet and possibly Thriftbooks should be here today, too, so hopefully I'll have a little haul to show you tomorrow.

I love bargain hunting, and yesterday I might've just had the best deal of my life. 15lbs of top notch grain free dog food (Acana Grasslands if you're curious) that normally goes for around $48, and I paid....drumroll please....$0.98! There was an amazing deal at Coupaw.com, and I was ecstatic to get it. My dogs are small, and that was easily 4-5 weeks worth of food for everyone.

One of the little trouble makers that will be enjoying that deal!

I occasionally go through phases where I watch various tv shows, and that's happening right now. I've gotten a bit sucked into The Vampire Diaries (ha...you see what I did there?). I know, I know: total guilty pleasure. I haven't been watching religiously or anything, and I haven't seen all of them. Just enough to get a good idea. I hate love triangles, and I can't stand Damon. Team Stelena all the way. I don't know, there's just something about the actor that plays Damon that I cannot stand. He makes me angry every time he's in a scene.

I think I need another bookshelf again. There's four floating shelves that wrap around three walls in my bedroom, plus a normal bookcase, and they're bursting at the seams. I need to badger my dad into making me more!

What's been going on with you all?
