TBR Thursday, No. 2

Kimberly @ Kimberlyfaye Reads started a new weekly feature that I'm excited to join in! This feature is to showcase what's on your to be read shelf (or eReader, or Audible library) and see what others think of it. Have you read it? Should I read it or put it back on the shelf? It's a way to dust off the books on your self and decide if they're worth reading!

Sustained by Emma Chase

A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.

When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.

Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.

Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I'm going to Mommy & Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal's office.

Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.

And that — that, I know how to do.

I've heard so many good things about this one, but for whatever reason, I haven't gotten around to it. What do you think? Should I move it up the TBR pile?

  1. Love Sustained!!!! I didn't love the first one but this one was awesome. The audio was fantastic too.

  2. Yes, you should read this one so then I'll know if I should keep it on my list! LOL. A trusted Goodreads friend recommended it to me, but I've yet to try it. Sounds really good!

  3. I really enjoyed Sustained Amanda! Chelsea is absolutely awesome and handles the abrupt turn her life has taken so well. I hope you love it too!

  4. I really liked this one as well. It is a quick, fun read.

  5. Oh I loved this one! I hope you'll enjoy it. :)

  6. I don't remember seeing reviews of this one, and I haven't personally read it.

  7. It sounds really good! I don't know what to tell you though, my TBR list is getting out of control. I want to read all the things!

  8. This was so good. I laughed, cried and sighed :)
