TBR Thursday

Kimberly @ Kimberlyfaye Reads started a new weekly feature that I'm excited to join in! This feature is to showcase what's on your to be read shelf (or eReader, or Audible library) and see what others think of it. Have you read it? Should I read it or put it back on the shelf? It's a way to dust off the books on your self and decide if they're worth reading!

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

This author is hit or miss for me (either really lazy writing that's full of love triangles, or lazy writing that's junk food enjoyable), but the New Orleans setting and the fae aspect intrigues me.

  1. I haven't read anything by this author in awhile. I remember seeing this one on Goodreads - the cover is pretty!

  2. Haven't read anything by this author as of yet. Need to eventually @_@

  3. Sigh. This was just an okay read for me. And I'm the same with JLA. I wish you luck!

  4. I have this one on my shelf but haven't gotten to it. I loved JLA for a while then it got stale I think . I am hoping some time off does the trick.

  5. Armentrout is hit or miss for me as well. I am curious about this one though especially because of the NO setting.

  6. I actually haven't read anything by this author. hah I'm just not really interested!

  7. I know exactly what you mean. However the NOLA setting tempts me!

  8. Oh you should definitely read Wicked. Full disclosure: I love most of Jen's books... but still. I don't even like fae storylines that much, but this one was great. (There's also a pretty wicked - haha - cliffhanger.)
