TBR Thursday

Kimberly @ Kimberlyfaye Reads started a new weekly feature that I'm excited to join in! This feature is to showcase what's on your to be read shelf (or eReader, or Audible library) and see what others think of it. Have you read it? Should I read it or put it back on the shelf? It's a way to dust off the books on your self and decide if they're worth reading!

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

I liked the first book well enough, but haven't felt any burning desire to pick book two up (mainly for the love triangle). I've tried to start it a handful of times and haven't gotten past the first chapter, plus I just saw on Goodreads that there's going to be a total of six books in this series. Whether or not that's true I'm not certain, but six books? Seriously?!
#StrugglesWithSeries
I actually like series, but only if I'm late to the game and they're nearly finish, so I can properly binge read.

That tangent aside, should I try again with this?

  1. I suggest listening to the audiobook instead. I found I had a better time listening rather than reading my hardcover.

  2. I still have the first one sitting on my kindle and now have no desire to pick up. I say wait until more books are out so you can binge.

  3. I feel the exact same way. I should read it, I liked the audio for the first, but I just don't feel inclined.

  4. Okay, I know I've said this before but this book is so phenomenal. It's about a million times better than the first book. There will be 6 books in the series but the third one will wrap up the stories of those characters and the next three will be a spinoff. I am so freaking excited for the 3rd book! I'm actually going to meet Sarah on May 2nd and get them signed. :D

Honest, out of all the books I've read ACOMAF has stuck with me the most. I can't stop thinking about that world and how interesting it is!

  5. I'm not a huge fan of series because I can't keep up. I'm curious about this one though. Maybe one day...

  8. I am in the same place as you. I enjoyed the first book. I have the second, but I hate getting into long series where the books aren't finished. I didn't realize (reading up a few comments) that there's only 3 books with these characters. Maybe I'll wait for that book to come out and then read this one. I hear it's awesome and worth reading.
